Diamond Brand was established in Philadelphia in 1881 as Diamond Brand Canvas Products. Since that time, we have been a leader in the manufacturing of fabric-based sewn gear. In 1920, we began to manufacture tarpaulins and other similar heavy canvas products. In 1931, we manufactured the very first backpack for the Boy Scouts of America. Today, we manufacture a wide variety of products including military gear, outdoor gear, and water sports gear for many different customers including the United States Department of Defense and the Boy Scouts of America.

Diamond Brand Canvas Products has a long history of support for Boy Scouts of America, dating back to 1931 when Diamond Brand manufactured the first ever Boy Scouts Backpack. Continuing that heritage, Diamond Brand continues today to make wall tents for the Boy Scouts of America, and have agreed to supply the 100th Year Anniversary Boy Scouts Jamboree with tents. For the Jamboree event, Diamond Brand has manufactured 5,500 tents that will be used this week at the 10-day event in Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia. The Boy Scouts are billing this year's event as the "best, most-exciting, fun-filled, safest jamboree ever."
As a result of the agreement to supply 5,500 tents to the 2010 Boy Scout Jamboree, Diamond Brand Canvas Products is also making a positive impact on Western North Carolina's local economy. The manufacturing line for the tents employs 20 people including operators, inspectors and service personnel, all residents of the local community.

Furthering its support of the Boy Scouts of America, Diamond Brand will provide on-site support at the Jamboree, assisting in the set-up of tents and providing technical support throughout registration. In addition, Diamond Brand's Sales Director - Jim Stahl will be providing on-site sales support, should any of the scout troops need additional tents.
