    The Tuckasegee River
Written by William Dodd, DBO Staff

    Description:
This is a great river for beginners. It is a very
relaxed class 2 river. You do not get into your first rapid until 1 mile into the run just under the train trussle. It is after you pass the train wreck scene from the movie The Fugitive. Many of the rapids are easy to boat scout and have pools after each in case there is swim. This run is full of great beginner surf waves and pools to practice rolls. Take out is at the Tuckasegee Outfitters on 74. The put in is in downtown Dillsboro.
